Now I can show you my first update. There are a lot off stitches to make but it is fun working on it. The colour of the leeves I have changed. My fabric is a bit yellow, ocre. So the original greencolour didn't blend in very well. There are some little mistakes in the patern. The star in the bleu house will be changed in white, like on the photo of the design. I think it wil lift the colour a bit. Also I noticed that on the roof of the bleu house the schoorsteen (sorry, don't know the english word) isn't red but brown, the same colour of the door.

I hope to come back soon with an other update. I just love the look of this willow tree! This is my only project I'm working on right now. I hope to have it completely done by April 17th when my sister comes to town. We are taking a quick trip up to Jill Rensel's in Ogden, Utah for some framing therapy. I've had my "Neighborhood" kitted up for months but made myself finish something else first. So, a few days ago I started mine and here's a picture after about 3 hours of stitching:
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_6fHFMWwyaFw/STAy2J2pU9I/AAAAAAAAAZ4/lMR6JmEKloM/s320/stitching+138.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5273771069590295506" />

I'm enjoying it so far. Couldn't wait to get to something besides the border so I'm going on to a tree for now. I also have tons of other things I need to be doing (like a few Christmas gifts and I'll be moving in the next couple of months) so I may be slow at listing this as a finish. I think I'm going to use this piece as a sort of commemorative neighborhood piece. We've been forced to sell the home we've lived in for the past 17 years to the State of Utah for a road project. We've put an offer in on a new home just a couple of blocks away. I was thinking of putting the name of streets I've lived on in my life under each home. I've lived for a significant amount of years in 4 different homes..so I'm thinking of my childhood home: South Main; my first home as a married woman: Walnut Circle; this home: 11400 South; and my new home: Gracie View Lane. I'm thinking about putting each address under one of the homes. What do you think? I think it might be kind-of fun...so we'll see once I get everything stitched...what I will finally decide. Thanks for looking and listening! For now...back to stitching!Cathy Lloydhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15693650575653412368noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-689887159480045098.post-60061158685178059472008-11-20T23:41:00.000-08:002008-11-20T23:44:38.566-08:00Latest UpdateI am only working on LHNN on Friday evenings as part of the Let's Stitch blog Stitch A Thon. And as we get closer to Christmas, and I have a number of ornament exchanges to complete, I am not getting much time to stitch on anything else. So, as of last Friday evening, this is where I am at...

Until next time,

Bernadette(Bette)Bettehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13931814993048675905noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-689887159480045098.post-3060034663889069762008-11-16T11:49:00.000-08:002008-11-16T11:51:51.880-08:00Construction done on two homes!Wooohooo I have completed construction on two more of the houses so just one more to go.

Milly~http://www.blogger.com/profile/06626272834842277723noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-689887159480045098.post-91620496197593611252008-11-12T22:46:00.000-08:002008-11-12T22:49:03.316-08:00Bette's Update
It has been a long time since I have posted an update, but this is where I am at. I have been working away on this sampler, but as I have other projects that I am also working on, I am afraid I have only got this far. Not too sure about the squirrel. The colours seem a little off to me. I will see what I think when I have finished the entire sampler. Currently I am working on Neighborhood as part of the Let's Stitch blog Friday night SAT.Bettehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13931814993048675905noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-689887159480045098.post-83346895722523452182008-10-07T09:07:00.000-07:002008-10-07T09:51:37.973-07:00Monica's little progress
Hi everyone!

I am so sorry I have been without posting any picture for so many days... Actually I have been stitching on a couple of other little projects that I would like to give as Christmas gifts to my sister and my MIL. In addition, my dear kids shared with me their "stomach-flu", and with my stomach upside down I could not even to look at my needle and threads for days! ;)

Anyway, I am happy to share my little progress with you now!

My only variation so far:
House of Embroidery hand-dyed thread col. "Bush" instead of DMC 937.
Never used this brand of threads previously. My eyes were caught by them at my LNS and I picked up a couple of "greens" that seemed good for my Neighborhood, just to try. They are very soft and pleasant to stitch.

I am enchanted by all your progress and variations. Thanks for sharing! I love this SAL, it is so relaxing, without rigid deadlines... It suits me...!
Thanks for looking and Happy Stitching to all of you! Bye! :)Monihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07966231552014332189noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-689887159480045098.post-4609490220351296792008-10-05T20:20:00.001-07:002008-10-22T09:37:20.739-07:00Thread and Fabric Choice

lhnneighborhood1.jpg,
originally uploaded by Bette_h.

Several weeks ago, I joined the LHN Neighborhood SAL. I have been meaning to post my fabric and thread choices, but keep forgetting. I have chosen to use the recommended DMC floss, but am using 32ct Heritage (I think) linen from Stitches and Spice.
Bettehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13931814993048675905noreply@blogger.com3
